I hope with this new Visionary magazine style theme, my blog articles may get more exposure and better Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

Few months back, Keshav had provided me a real long list of all possilble types of wordpress themes and I a very much grateful to him that I found this one the most suitable for my blog.

There is always a scope for improving whatever things we do. Same applies here. Although, I tried my best to give this theme a nice and neat look but there is always a possibility of improvement. So friends, I am open for any type of comments and feedbacks. Please help me improve my present theme. I am not much of a designer instead I prefer coding over that. Kindly, tell me weak areas in my blog’s theme and I’ll try to rectify those as soon as possible.

So, am waiting for your comments.

In the end, a big thanks to Madhur who shared with me his experience of blogging and also many valuable advices right from the very first day I launched my site and started blogging.

Well friends, look Leslie has already expressed her views in her own humorous style (here) and I am anxiously waiting for yours as well.

Not only did I receive huge traffic but also income was some what better than before. The feed count is also increasing real fast. At the end of April it was 92 and right now at the time of writing this post it reads 201.

But then again when my blog is on a high, I will soon be forced to leave blogging for couple of months.

Reason?

I got my date of joining in Infosys at Mysore, India on 23rd June, 2008. Sooooooo early. :-(

Never mind, I’ll try my best to find some time out of my busy schedule to write few good articles. I just can’t afford to leave my blog idle for so long. (If any one wishes to work here for some time, do contact me. You are most welcome!)

Ok, that’s a different issue. Now comes the important part. The articles which really changed the whole condition of my blog. Here are the top 7 most popular articles of the month, May.

  1. How to give your USB devices a Background Image
  2. How to Block Websites without using any Software
  3. How to Mount USB Drives to a Windows Folder
  4. Recover/Hack Lost Instant Messenger Passwords
  5. How to Connect two Computers over the Internet
  6. How to check if someone has blocked you on Google Talk
  7. Best Ways to Find Invisible Yahoo! Messenger Users

Also, I have written a Guest Post on Shankar’s blog- Top 7 Useful Adobe AIR Applications for Bloggers.

So, let’s hope that I get few hours to work on Aarambh after 23rd of this month. I’ll try my best, that’s for sure. :-)

This is perhaps the last post ever published from my university hostel room no H-5/31.

On 26th July, 2004 (yea, I still remember the date) I was first stepped into Jaypee University Of Information Technology to pursue an undergraduate course, Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech). Four years henceforth, today i.e 26th May, 2008 I am all set to leave my university for ever with a Degree in hand, a job waiting and my personal blog Aarambh running successfully.

Really, four long years have passed like anything and now it’s so hard to believe the reality. If you ask me what I will miss the most, my answer would be MY DEAR FRIENDS and also MY HOSTEL ROOM.

This is a nostalgic feeling. You have spent 4 years living with your friends, enjoying every moment with your friends, sharing every problems with your friends and more than that even those fights among friends-all will become a MEMORY in just few minutes from now. Difficult to believe, right?

But that’s the way life is. I learned so much out here in college both in terms of academic and life and now it’s time to actually implement those in real life which happens to be a corporate life. A place difficult to survive for many.

Dear readers, please wish me good luck for future and also help me to come out of this nostalgia moments. Man, it’s so so so difficult to leave from a place which transformed me to a MAN from a BOY.

Entrecard offering 75,000 Credits for free http://www.rakshitk.com/blog/2008/05/21/entrecard-offering-75000-credits-for-free/ http://www.rakshitk.com/blog/2008/05/21/entrecard-offering-75000-credits-for-free/#comments Tue, 20 May 2008 20:11:24 +0000 Rakshit http://www.rakshitk.com/blog/2008/05/21/entrecard-offering-75000-credits-for-free/ If you’re new to Entrecard, and wondering what to do first, check out their free ebook which will guide you along the way. Also, if you are an Entrecard member for a long time, then you may get benefited as well just by reading their ebook which is full of strategies.

One of the main and important feature added to Entrecard is the ability to add more than one blog to an account. You can add all your blogs to Entrecard simply by going to your Dashboard and clicking “Linked Blogs“. You can also choose whether to link an existing account with your account or register a new blog and link it to your account. You can then switch from one blog to other to drop and advertise as either one. I suppose this is the much needed feature and very useful one.

They are also having a contest for the very first time. They will give away 15,000 credits to people who add new blogs to their accounts. Winners will be randomly selected in each of the following cases:-

2-5 blogs in account
5-10 blogs in account

10-15 blogs in account

15-20 blogs in account

20-25 blogs in account

Also, if you write a blog post mentioning about their new features, you may win 2000 credits.

I have been using Entrecard for quite a while now. Its really an effective way to advertise on others sites without any cost. Their network is growing real fast.

Friends, I am really sorry for not posting any articles for couple of days.

It’s just this viral infection that caught me and forced me to extinguish myself from blogging. This whole month has been very tough and hectic for me. First, that conference which deprived me of writing anything on “Aarambh” and now this viral fever and body-ache is taking the heavy toll on me.

Nevertheless, I am trying to get on track as fast as I can. It will take just couple of days more to get into the groove and then I’ll try to make up the loss.

Till then, Stay Tuned.

You FAV Me And I FAV You

I suppose, it’s time I should also start Technorati Favorites Exchange Experiment. Recently, I have seen TechFreak and Life Rock experimenting with the famous Technorati Favorites Exchange Program strategy to increase their rank.

What are the benefits of being favorited?

According to doshdosh.com, here are some reasons why getting into the Technorati 100 will be beneficial:

  • Provides social proof. Getting in the Top 100 provides social proof of your blog’s popularity. This will increase the attractiveness of your site in the eyes of advertisers and blog readers if mentioned or displayed prominently.
  • Expands your blog readership. You are more likely to receive visitors from Technorati if you are listed in the Top 100 most favorited list. Visitors are bloggers, which means that they are potential feed subscribers if you have quality content.

How to participate?

  1. First, add Aarambh to your favourites by following this link: Add to Technorati Favorites using Tag: Technology, Internet, Motivation or any other you feel appropriate.
  2. After you are done with that, leave a link of your Technorati profile in the comments so that I can add you to my Favorites.
  3. You can also add others who will leave link in the comments and ask them to do the same.
  4. (Optional)Participate in this experiment. Make a post about this, give a link back to my post. If you do so, I will Put your link in this post so other people can visit you.

So go ahead and participate and add me on your technorati.

Here is the list of blogs which I added to my Favorites:-

Life Rocks
TechFreak
Sizlopedia
Technospot
Review Saurus

After, almost a week long break, I am back to blogging world. I missed working on “Aarambh” all along.

Anyways, throughout this whole period I went to Ghaziabad to attend a National Conference on CS/IT at KIET scheduled on 2nd – 3rd Feb. My Research Paper got accepted and so I had to give presentation of the paper. It was real fun but on the other hand a bit uneasy. I mean, I was asked to present my paper amidst of some great personalities and big men.

Well, the highlight of this trip was the informative interaction of mine with the TCS representative. I didn’t recognize him ( surely, how can I in my first meeting?), mistaken him as a KIET professor and asked him about his experience in KIET. Unfortunately, he turned out to be the Chief Guest of the conference and more than that a TCS(India based top IT company) representative. Man, it was total foolishness from my side. In spite of this early blow, I corrected myself just at the right time and then we both began what turned out to be a real gentlemen, professional and informative discussion.

This was my 2nd Research Paper being accepted. First one was in ICFAI, Ahmedabad where it was a managerial level conference. Oh, I can’t forget my experience there as well. Perhaps, I’ll definitely share that sometime later.

My first month of blogging has proved to be a very good learning curve for me. I’ll share the month’s stats of “Aarambh” in my next post.

Special thanks to all those who spent their precious time on commenting to my articles and giving their personal views. Also, a vote of thanks to those who have subscribed to my Feeds.

Readers, Stay Tuned. We have got much more to deliver. After all, it’s just an “Aarambh”- A Beginning.
