But scope of this application is not limited to web browsers only. It can also be used to reveal passwords hidden under asterisks from any windows applications like Google Talk, Yahoo Messenger etc.

How many times have you forgotten your saved passwords? It happens with everyone. But don’t worry. Things can be a lot easier after you learn how to use this software.

All you have to do is to launch the application for which the password has to be found along with Asterisk Key. Then click on “Recover” button in Asterisk Key.

That’s it. You can see in the image below the password gets revealed along with the application name.

It’s very simple. Now a forgotten password hidden under asterisks is just a click away. Also, you can easily hack others stored passwords as well.

Enjoy!!!

Any comments are whole heartedly appreciated.

P.S. Asterisk Key size is just 453 Kb and it does not work with Firefox. It’s up to you if you use if for hacking.

In this article let’s focus on how to hack passwords in Internet Explorer.

There is a utility named Asterisk Key that can be used to recover saved passwords in Internet Explorer. So many times we tend to forget our saved passwords in web browsers. The reason is simple. Once the password is saved we did not require to type them every time we sign in for any services.

So, if you tried very hard to remember your password and got fed up, just read through this article and all your problems will get solved easily.

Launch Asterisk Key and also the web pages having saved passwords. If the web page is not open, this utility will not work.

How to find Saved Passwords in Firefox http://www.rakshitk.com/blog/2008/04/29/how-to-find-saved-passwords-in-firefox/ http://www.rakshitk.com/blog/2008/04/29/how-to-find-saved-passwords-in-firefox/#comments Tue, 29 Apr 2008 17:55:53 +0000 Rakshit http://www.rakshitk.com/blog/2008/04/29/how-to-find-saved-passwords-in-firefox/ These days I am really into recovering or hacking passwords from various applications by different methods. In my last post we have learned how to Hack Passwords from Instant Messenger Clients such as Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk etc. This article is not really a hacking technique but I am sure not many of us know it.

Ok, so now get back to our primary objective of the day, how can we find or recover all hidden and saved passwords in Firefox?

Believe me it’s very simple. Firefox itself provide this feature. All you need to do is to Open Firefox -> “Tools” -> “Security“.

Photobucket

Then click on “Show Passwords” button. A small window will appear giving information regarding Website Name and their respective Username. Click again on “Show Passwords” button and all your saved passwords will appear.

Simple!!!

Isn’t it?

Still after so many years of Firefox usage, I didn’t know this until yesterday when by chance I saw this feature. Strange right?

I am sure there are many like me. I guess I am not the only one who didn’t know this. Please, do reply in the comments section if you also feel the same.

My next post will be on How to find Hidden Passwords in Internet Explorer. Stay Tuned!!!

Recover/Hack Lost Instant Messenger Passwords http://www.rakshitk.com/blog/2008/04/27/how-to-recover-lost-instant-messenger-passwords/ http://www.rakshitk.com/blog/2008/04/27/how-to-recover-lost-instant-messenger-passwords/#comments Sun, 27 Apr 2008 08:38:37 +0000 Rakshit http://www.rakshitk.com/blog/2008/04/27/how-to-recover-lost-instant-messenger-passwords/ Earlier we have discussed a lot about “How to…” secure your system from unwanted access by protecting it with a Secret Key. Also we have talked about few security mechanisms that can protect your system from various viruses and Trojans. Now when you are aware of all these security mechanisms along with a unique way to lock your files and folders, I take you to all-together different road to hacking.

MessenPass is a password recovery tool that reveals the passwords of the following instant messenger applications:

  • MSN Messenger
  • Windows Messenger (In Windows XP)
  • Windows Live Messenger (In Windows XP And Vista)
  • Yahoo Messenger (Versions 5.x and 6.x)
  • Google Talk
  • ICQ Lite 4.x/5.x/2003
  • AOL Instant Messenger v4.6 or below, AIM 6.x, and AIM Pro.
  • Trillian
  • Miranda
  • GAIM/Pidgin
  • MySpace IM

MessenPass can only be used to recover the passwords for the current logged-on user on your local computer, and it only works if you chose the “remember your password” in one of the above programs. You cannot use this utility for grabbing the passwords of other users.

Installing MessenPass

MessenPass can be used without any installation process, simply by running the executable file (mspass.exe) from the zip file.
If you want to install MessenPass with automatic creation of program group icons and uninstall support, download and run the self-install executable file.

Using MessenPass

When you run MessenPass, it automatically detects the Instant Messenger applications installed on your computer, decrypts the passwords they store, and displays all user name/password pairs that it found in the main window of MessenPass. If from some reason, MessenPass fails to locate the installed Instant Messenger application, you can try to manually select the right folder of your IM application by using ‘Select Folders’ option (from the File menu).

On the main window of MessenPass, you can select one or more password items, and then copy them to the clipboard in tab-delimited format (you can paste this format into Excel or Open-Office Spreadsheet), or save them into text/html files.

Downloads

Download MessenPass in zip file (mspass.zip)

Download self-install executable for installing MessenPass with uninstall support
