Is there a way to use a mini-computer to connect to the internet using your home computer's wireless broadband connection over long distances from work? Approximately 20 miles away from home.

For example: My home computer has wireless broadband internet service through Sprint. I want to use my mini-computer (dell mini 10) from work using this same connection without having to purchase a second wireless plan through Sprint. Is this possible? Both computers have WiFi.

Also, my mini computer does can not use my broadband card from my other full size lap top. The mini only accepts USB port type plug in devices.

Thanks in advance for your advice and help,
William

The stores have connections back to one point (a sonicwall firewall/router) which is where they gain their internet access. I would like to keep from having to travel to each store to change settings on each computer. Is there anyway we could limit internet access in this way.

Never used that particular software before, but it seems a lot simpler than just VPNing in and trying to set things up that way. Takes a lot of the hassle out, I'd think. I'll have to try it out. :)

@Imran

->Yes, you can use it to connect to any pc but that system should have this application installed.

->Yes, the other computer has to be turned on and logged in by some user.

->You can easily troubleshoot your friend's computer from anywhere in the world.

->Your friend will able to see all your moves while you are controlling his computer.

Hope, this solves your queries. In case of any help, just feel free to get back to me.

Enjoy! :-)

I can use the same method and connect to any pc right? Does the other computer have to be turned on or something? Can I for instance....sit here...and troubleshoot on a friends computer miles away with him sitting in front of his comp? Will he be able to see whats going on, on his screen all the time?

Hello!!! :) =)

Questions:

When I access my home PC from another one:

1) does my PC has to be "ON" before I leave home?

2) can someone at home see that I'm using the PC?
(like if I open my email from work, will it also be visible on the screen at home, thus anyone standing by the PC can read it at the same time?)

3) Person B is using home PC, I access it while Person B is working/browsing - will there be a pop up window or any kind of alert which will indicate that the PC is being accessed?

Thanks and keep up the good work!!!! :)
