very good article and enough choices over default notepad, however i am using notepad ++ and quite happy with it.

Yup,I’ve tried Notepad++ and QuickNote myself and indeed the former is feature rich and is an excellent replacement for Notepad.

My personal favorites are Notepad++ and Notepad2. I use both of these quite regularly. Having said that, you have missed one of the most full featured free editors available called PSPad. Check it out and you will also be impressed.

QuickNote is really very good alternative even better than Notepad++ if you use accordingly.
