I had a question as the comments below seem to contradict each other. If you can see someone’s profile pic in Gmail, does that mean you’re not blocked? Or the other person could have selected “visible to everyone” and that’s why you see their profile pic even tho they blocked you?

As far as your question is concerned, if you are able to view the profile pic of the other person it is dead sure that you are not being blocked by him.

I want to know if someone has blocked my EMAILS from coming through on gmail. I know that to block someone’s emails you have to set a filter that automatically deletes them but I want to know if I would receive an undeliverable message or a failed send message or something if I had been blocked in that way and if not is there any other way to find out if they have blocked my emails?

Doesn’t work for skype. I tested it few times with 4 different accounts from different PCs. The info is still there and the contact shows offline. No difference with skype.

1. How can i remain “Invisible” and “Away” on G-Talk, as there are no such options mentioned there?
2. I have recently downloaded G-Talk on my Windows Vista successfully, but have also got “Chat disabled” on my G-mail account, which was working fine before downlaoding G-Talk. Now i cant even see my contact list and who is offline/online. Is there any conditioned connection between the two (Gmail & Gtalk)?

I am pretty sure that one of my contacts has blocked me on gtalk. (I saw him online on one of my friends gtalk but appears offline to me). I tried the pidgin thingy, but it still shows his info. Is it becoz I have saved my chats with him or does it take like n number of days before it works?

Simple way to find whether som1 has blocked u in Gtalk or not.
No need to install pidgin u can do it with gtalk also.
if u find some of your’s friends not coming online then just type his name/ mail ID if there is an option of “invite” or “invite again” that means he has blocked u.

I have installed pigdin. for one contact when i right click it says in the subscription column as ‘To’ – what is the difference when subscription says “To” and when subscription says “Both”. For all my contacts it is “both” (including the one i blocked. Just for one contact it is “to”- please let me know

I’m on google talk in Pidgin. One of my contact is offline and its written ”not authorized” beside of is name. This person block me or what?
The most easiest way to know the blockers on Gtalk is just to click on the account which you assume blocking you ,and try to leave a voice mail. If you can’t leave a voice mail for that particular account , it means that you have been blocked by him or her.

Your contact has not blocked you. “Not Authorized” means that when you have sent the friend request to that contact, that person has still not accepted it or may be declined your request.

So you meant to say that the contacts that has not blocked you, their information also you are not able to see, right?

I don’t think Pidgin will send the request by its own. You might not see your contact online in Pidgin but yes, if you login to gmail or gtalk, you can always see whether they are online or offline. Whatever I said before, holds true only when you are using Pidgin… Hope this helps…Please get back to me if you need further information on that.
As it is discussed above about the the profile pic that it shoes, someone has blocked you or not. Here I would like to add my personal experience. The old profile pic, that the other person was using, before blocking you, remains visible to you either he has blocked you or not. Unless and until you reinstall your gtalk.

If the contact is in ‘invisible’ mode, do you still not see his or her info? In other words if you do not see anything when you click get info, does it mean that the person had blocked you or could it also mean that he/she is invisible? Would appreciate a reply.
